Shirakawa-go

This village in northern Gifu Prefecture is famous for its traditional Gassho-style thatched-roof houses. Together with Gokayama, it is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Each year, some 1.4 million people visit this charming village in the Shogawa river basin.

Takayama

The city of Takayama is located in a region of northern Gifu Prefecture called Hida, leading many to refer to it as “Hida Takayama.” The Joka-machi and Shoka-machi neighborhoods of Takayama have been preserved as historic sites, with townscapes dating back to the day of the samurai. Visitors can explore the city’s various nationally designated Cultural Properties, visit long-beloved shops selling items like handicrafts, or relax in hot spring baths.

For SHORYUDO Bus Pass users

Before boarding highway buses to Shirakawa-go and Takayama, you must make a seat reservation and pick up your ticket at the Hokuriku Railroad Ticket Center, located near Bus Platform 4 outside the Kanazawa Port Gate (West Gate) of Kanazawa Station. Please note that for buses to Toyama, Komatsu Airport, and the Noto Peninsula, you can simply show your Shoryudo Bus Pass to board the bus.
