Getting On a Bus
Take a numbered ticket (seiri-ken) from the machine when you get on.
Pay the bus fare when getting off. The numbered ticket shows the bus stop where you got on, and is required to pay your fare.
You can use contactless payment with a credit card. Simply tap your card when you get on the bus, instead of taking a numbered ticket.
* Note: Kanazawa Loop Buses and Kanazawa Flat Buses do not use numbered tickets. For Kanazawa Flat Buses, pay the flat-rate fare when you get on the bus.

Getting Off a Bus
1. Let the driver know you want to get off at the next stop.
After your stop is announced and shown on the display at the front of the bus, press the nearest “request stop” button to let the driver know that you want to get off at the next stop. The button will light up to show a stop has been requested.

2. Check your fare on the display.
Fares are shown on the display at the front of the bus, under numbers corresponding to numbered tickets. Child fares (for children 6–12) are half the adult fare, rounded up to the nearest ¥10.

Paying Fares
Use cash
When getting off, put both the fare payment in cash and your numbered ticket in the fare box next to the driver.
The fare box does not give change, so use the attached change machine if you need exact change. (¥50, ¥100, and ¥500 coins and ¥1,000 notes only).

Tap to ride
Tap off at the reader by the front door.
Please inform the driver before tap your card the fare for multiple passengers, child fares, and fares for persons with disabilities when paying.

Using the One Day Pass (Within the Valid Service Area)
When getting off the bus, put your numbered ticket in the fare box and show your One Day Pass to the driver.
(When boarding a Kanazawa Flat Bus, show the One Day Pass to the driver so the driver can see the date.)
JR buses and Kanazawa Flat Buses (Zaimoku and Nagamachi routes) accept public transit IC cards from throughout Japan, including Suica, Icoca, and Pasmo. Note that nationwide public transit IC cards cannot be used on other buses in Kanazawa.

2.Take a numbered ticket (seiri-ken) from the machine when you get on.

2.Check the fare display to determine your fare (shown by the number printed on your numbered ticket).
3.Put your numbered ticket and cash fare into the fare box.
The fare box does not give change, so use the attached change machine if you need exact change. (¥50, ¥100, and ¥500 coins and ¥1,000 notes only). If you are using a commuting pass or a One Day Pass, show it to the driver and put your numbered ticket into the fare box.
Getting On at Manned Stations
1.Before getting on the train, buy a ticket at a ticket machine or ticket counter.
2.Get on the train through any open door. You do not need to take a numbered ticket when getting on.
Getting Off at Manned Stations
1.You can get off through any open door.
2.Hand your numbered ticket and cash fare (or your prepaid ticket, if you got on at a manned station) to the station staff at the ticket gate.
If you are using a commuting pass or a One Day Pass, show it to the station staff at the ticket gate as you give them your numbered ticket.
During morning rush hour and other high-traffic periods, trains may have a conductor onboard who sells prepaid tickets on the train, and collects tickets as passengers get off.
